In Memory

Of The

Children Lost

Dedicated to the children who have perished in the foster care system often times unheard and unnoticed.

When I was 5 I was taken from my home and sent to a foster home where I would spend 12 years in eight different homes,I survived those years but some foster children are not so lucky as they will perish in foster care and this website is dedicated to all those children who perished in Americas foster care system.

The foster care system has been around now for over 100 years since the first foster child in april of 1875 where foster has its origins in the United States.Today there are half a million children in foster care across the nation, foster care is supposed to be a "safe" place for children but the fact is that many children will be no safer in a foster home then they were in the homes they were removed from.Statistics show that 12,390 children were abused in foster care in 1999,it is also a fact that foster children will perish at the hands of foster parents or commit suicide while in state care as result of the trauma from being placed in a foster home away from siblings and family.

There are no statistics or even reports made public on just how many foster children die in state care as result of foul play or suicide despite requests from advocacy groups representing foster children. When a foster child dies he or she will die unheard, unnoticed and forgotten by the system that was supposed to protect them. What happens when one of these children perish? It will be just another child who slipped between the cracks.

How many children have to "slip through the cracks"?

Dedicated to the memory of the foster children who have perished in foster care or after aging out of foster care, not all who perish in the system do so as a result of criminal acts of the foster parents or the system and I feel it is important that these children also be remembered.

Let us not forget our brothers and sisters in care.
