There are no statistics or even reports made public on just how many foster
children die in state care as result of foul play or suicide despite requests from advocacy groups representing foster children. When a foster child dies he or she will
die unheard, unnoticed and forgotten by the system that was supposed to protect them.
What happens when one of these children perish? It will be just another child who slipped between the cracks.
How many children have to "slip through the cracks"?
Dedicated to the memory of the foster children who have perished in foster care
or after aging out of foster care, not all who perish in the system do so as a result of
criminal acts of the foster parents or the system and I feel it is important that these children also be remembered.
Let us not forget our brothers and sisters in care.
